Types of Aisles
Lift trucks are classified due to the types of aisles they have been designed to work in. Narrow Aisle and Wide Aisle lift trucks are designed to turn in the aisle, whereas Very Narrow Aisle trucks really don't turn in the aisle. There are certain aisle widths to take into account with different models.
VNA or Very Narrow Aisle trucks operate in less than 6 feet areas and usually utilize particular guidance systems such as rail, wire or optical systems in order to travel within the aisles. Several different models of VNA trucks comprise Order Selectors, Turret Trucks and Swing Masts. These are common kinds in tight retail spaces and in several warehouse and storage situations.
Narrow Aisle trucks can operate within aisles from 8 feet to 10 feet wide. Normally these are stand-up models like for instance Reach Trucks. They are commonly utilized in warehouses and storage facilities.
The wide aisle forklift is designed to work in aisles more than 8 feet to 10 feet.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The "Ergomat" padding on stand-up models offer padding on a sloped floorboard. These features are designed to reduce operator fatigue by absorbing vibration. The operator compartment is spacious and has an 8" low step height which helps lessen overall body fatigue by easing frequent entry and exit.
