Operator Environment
Operators have a safe and efficient place to work from in the Spirit Delta cab. The specific design of the cab comes as a result of extensive study into the operators working conditions. The main goal is to offer optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and large glass areas unobstructed so as to keep the field of vision clear. The instrumental panel is ergonomically designed and is really comfortable and gently rounded. This particular area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all important info, in order to keep the operator working as effectively as she or he could.
Vibration levels and noise levels are kept low due to the insulated mounting on the chassis. To be able to maintain an optimal working position, the operator seat and hydraulic controls are all individually adjustable. In addition, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for utmost comfort. There are 2 easy to operate, multi-functioned ergonomically positioned levers which are provided for windscreen wipers, gear changing, the window washers and horn.
A ventilation/heating unit guarantees a comfy cab temperature for the operator. The incoming air is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The equipment has a robust 3-speed fan for recirculation, defrosting, heating and cooling. As an extra option, air conditioning could be fitted.
Instrumentation
The instrument panel in the spirit delta cab has been logically grouped and are all accessible. The standard instruments that comprise: low brake pressure, high coolant temperature, low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, warning lamps, high gearbox oil temperature and applied parking brake. Moreover, gauges display values for engine coolant, gearbox oil pressure, fuel quantity and operating time.
The ECS or Electronic Control System monitoring is one of the important options on the 8 to 10 tonne trucks. These models make it easier to supervise the machinery. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS or Electronic Control System and incorporated by this system. The single warning lamp and the full text display show any errors that occur and their current values.
