Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions as well as "Walkie" models.
Just as the name implies, the walkie type is designed for the operator to walk alongside with the unit as they transport cargo. The Rider model however, utilizes a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent moving of cargo over extended distances within manufacturing applications and warehouses. They are really fast and maneuverable.
It is essential to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and hence, it is not recommended to move unstable or tall loads using these machines. A rider could be the right answer if you are searching for an inexpensive way of moving cargo from point A to point B. If though, you must move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the right alternative.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This equipment is specially made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the operator and the load with a purpose to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are normally very narrow aisle vehicles that can work in aisles of less than six feet. They are extremely handy pieces of machine in physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
